Project H2-SR

Intestazione
The industrial experience and interest in hydrogen allowed Res integra to be the winner of the PNRR "Hydrogen Valley" tender
Blocco 1

H2-SR

The Company is also engaged in the implementation of H2-SR project which involves the design and construction of a plant for the production of renewable hydrogen through electrolysis; the plant is powered by a photovoltaic system which produces the necessary renewable electricity and which is to the electrolyser.
The hydrogen produced is delivered via cylinder trailers, and potentially via pipelines, to local industrial users allowing the valorization of the oxygen as a by-product of the electrolysis process

H2-SR Project is financed under the PNRR public tender no. 2070 of 12/30/22 issued by Sicilian Region and referring to the renewable hydrogen production plant and the related photovoltaic system exclusively serving it

Why in the industrial center of Syracuse?
Because it is located in the center of one of the largest industrial areas in Europe, developed starting in the 1950s in Augusta, a very vast industrial area in which there are three refineries, two of which are interconnected, various electricity production plants from fossil, petrochemical plants, cement plants and other minor plants. In some of these plants, hydrogen of fossil origin is already produced and used in industrial processes, for example in the processes of reducing the sulfur present in the fuels we use in our cars. We are talking about tens of thousands of tons of hydrogen per year, which being of fossil origin causes hundreds of thousands of tons of CO2 released into the atmosphere every year. The Confindustria Siracusa sustainability report indicates that the industrial center in the province of Syracuse alone emits just under 8 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.
The Sicily region has the greatest solar radiation in Europe and there is a very significant wind power capacity, which is essential to have renewable electricity which is used to produce renewable hydrogen.

In case of interest in participating in the tender for the assignment of supplies and contracts for photovoltaic system and BOP of the H2-SR project, it is necessary to send an expression of interest by completing the form attached here no later than February 25, 2025, any subsequent expressions of interest will not be taken into consideration.
